Does the government currently pay for locum teachers in Jersey?
During the last 10 years, how much money has been spent on locum teachers? And how many have been taken on?
Can you give me a breakdown of where the money is spent?
Specifically how much has been spent on hotel accommodation?
We have understood locum teacher to mean supply teachers. We have a bank of supply teachers, employed by the States of Jersey and therefore paid through our payroll that the schools can access when necessary. We do not use outside agency staff.
All schools are able to access the bank of supply staff. In the time period requested all schools have used supply staff. These schools being:
- Jersey College for Girls Prep
- Victoria College Preparatory
