I Request which States Department entered into discussions with Initeris (Jersey Lifts ). Also who was present at the meetings. The dates when meetings were held and the location.

Response

As part of his role as Assistant Minister for Digital Jersey, Deputy Scott Wickenden met with entrepreneurs from the digital sector on 12 July 2017 at the Digital Hub accompanied by an official from the Chief Minister’s Department to receive a briefing on a new app that was due to be launched. When it emerged that the product was a ride sharing app, representatives of Initeris were advised to ensure they fully understood and complied with the relevant laws and regulations governing services of this nature.

It is not unusual for the Assistant Minister to take meetings with digital sector entrepreneurs but this should not be construed in any way as tacit or explicit support from government.
