Could I please have the official monthly all-time extreme maximum and minimum air and sea temperature records and the extreme minimum grass temperature records that have been recorded for each month of the year in Jersey along with the date and year for each of these records.

Response

The information you have requested is exempt under Article 23 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 because the information is already accessible to you by other means.

Specific weather information can be requested directly from the Metrological Section of the Department by emailing them at the following email address:

enquires@jerseymet.gov.je.

Enquiries cost £205.00, plus GST and a further £27.00, plus GST for each year of data requested. Please contact the Meteorological Section to discuss the data required. Further information can be found at the following link:

Article 23 -  Information accessible to applicant by other means

(1) Information is absolutely exempt information if it is reasonably available to the applicant, otherwise than under this Law, whether or not free of charge.

(2) A scheduled public authority that refuses an application for information on this ground must make reasonable efforts to inform the applicant where the applicant may obtain the information.
