This is an updated version of the answer provided to an earlier FOI request in June 2016 which can be found here

Since 28 January 2008, £446,464 has been spent on Special Payments for funerals.

271 funerals in total have been funded through these Special Payments. 

As stated within the previous response the Social Security Department does not hold information prior to the introduction of Income Support in 2008. For earlier information, please refer to individual Parishes.
