Please provide details of the number of full-time equivalent staff (FTE) in each of the following departments as of October 2014 when the new States Assembly was formed. Please also provide details of how many staff are currently in each department as of December 2017:

  • Chief Minister’s Department
  • External Relations Department
  • Treasury Department
  • Economic Development Department
  • Infrastructure Department
  • Education Department
  • Health Department

Response

The table below shows the number of staff in each department requested above in FTE, as at the end of October 2014, and November 2017. The authority have used figures from November 2017 as they are the most up to date figures held:

Please note there have been a number of internal team movements, which have influenced FTE changes within the departments listed above. Below is not a complete list but details the main changes that have occurred:

  • External Relations was transferred from Chief Minister’s and became an independent department
  • Sport & Culture transferred from Education to Economic Development
  • Public Health transferred from Health & Social Services to Community & Constitutional Affairs
  • Jersey Property Holdings transferred from Treasury & Resources to Department for Infrastructure
