Request

Would you please provide the list of companies or businesses which were granted in 2015, 2016 and 2017 by the Jersey Fire & Rescue a Petroleum License, for each of the three following licensing categories:

  • keep petroleum spirit at premises comprising of a bulk fuel storage depot
  • keep petroleum spirit at premises for the purposes of distribution to premises used for dispensing petroleum spirit for retail or private supply or to a person for private use
  • keep petroleum spirit at premises used for dispensing petroleum spirit for retail or private supply, not being premises falling within the description in the paragraph above

Response

This request has been refused because the information held is commercially sensitive and could give advantage to competitors if released. It is therefore exempt under Article 33 (b) of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) law 2011.

The information held could also identify individuals or organisations that hold a license for private use, which may influence criminal behaviour.

Information is qualified exempt information if –

(a) it constitutes a trade secret; or

(b) its disclosure would, or would be likely to, prejudice the commercial interests of a person (including the scheduled public authority holding the information).
