(Note: The applicant subsequently clarified their interest in CCTV use was across parishes in Jersey and it was then suggested that they contact the parishes directly for that information.)

Response

The States of Jersey Police monitor and maintain 23 in the St Helier area. The Streets covered by these cameras are:

Cameras are monitored on an ‘As required’ basis for specific incidents or at busy times such as weekend evenings outside nightclubs and taxi ranks to assist with the prevention of crime and disorder.

All cameras are recording 24 hours a day, 7 day a week however, footage will only be viewed in response to a crime enquiry or other incident requiring police action. The footage is retained for 92 days.
