Budget overspends and underspends (FOI)

Budget overspends and underspends (FOI)

Produced by the Freedom of Information office
Authored by States of Jersey and published on 07 March 2018.

Request

Please can you tell me how what the States of Jerseys budget was in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 and what their overspend / underspend was?

Response

Article 23 (Accessible by other means) of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 has been applied as the States of Jersey Financial Reports and Accounts are publicly available and provide a full analysis of budget and actual spend at a departmental level and total for all departments (revenue) and for each capital project allocation.

States of Jersey financial reports and accounts

The 'Statements of Outturn Against Approvals' in the 2014, 2015 and 2016 Accounts (Section 10) have a full reconciliation of Medium Term Financial Plan approved budget to final approved budget and then the actual against that final budget to provide the underspend.

2017 information will be published in the 2017 Accounts in early June.
