Request

A consultant (PMR Leisure) has been commissioned by the States of Jersey (SoJ) to consult for the new skatepark. Steve Pallett originally said the consultant was paid £11,000. In a recent hustings, he said the cost was £13,000. What is the actual cost of the consultancy at this stage?

We were also told Ports of Jersey gave SoJ £50,000 in order to relocate the new skatepark. How much of this fee is still available, and what has the rest been spent on?

Response

PMR Leisure have been engaged by Jersey Sport to provide professional project management support to the working group established to:

  • to identify sites available which could be considered for the relocation and development of the current skateboard park

  • to evaluate the options and identify a preferred site

  • to identify and secure sources of funds for the development of the preferred site.

The agreed contract sum is £11,250 plus expenses. Ports of Jersey Limited have agreed to reimburse Jersey Sport for this element of the work out of the £50,000 they had committed in support of the relocation of the current skate park.
