Please provide a list of all countries where a reciprocal health agreement exists with the States of Jersey.

Please list the extent of treatment that the reciprocal agreement covers ie accident and emergency treatment / general inpatient or outpatient treatment.

Please confirm the start date and renewal date / expiry of each agreement.

Please advise how a Jersey resident can confirm / access treatment under these agreements for all countries other than France (an attestation certificate is issued for France by social Security)

The documentation required to access treatment under a reciprocal agreement will vary country to county and should be confirmed with the authorities of the country a person is travelling to. Advice can be sought from the British consulate.

Travellers are advised to contact the authorities of the country they are traveling to for confirmation regarding the treatment which will be provided under the reciprocal agreement. Agreements often refer to ‘urgent’, ‘immediate’ or ‘emergency treatment’ and the interpretation of these will be given in a locally defined policy, for example, the provision of ambulance services or prescription medicine will vary from country to country.

The Health and Community Service department are responsible for the application of agreements in respect of visitors to Jersey. International agreements are overseen by the External Relations within the Chief Ministers Department, supported by the Policy team within the Strategic Policy and Performance Department.
