In relation to the Wells criteria for identifying the risk of a DVT in pre-hospital patients - please provide details for the following questions:
Does your service use the Wells criteria?
Do you provide training on the tool?
Has it been used in the past but not currently?
Do you think that staff would benefit from having access to the tool if not already, in identifying the risk for DVT in patients?
If used already, can you provide information about how many people scored a high, medium or low probability for DVT in 2017?
The States of Jersey Ambulance service does not use the Wells criteria for deep vein thrombosis (DVT) as it is not part of the Joint Royal Colleges Ambulance Liaison Committee (JRCALC) guidelines.
The Wells criteria has not been used in past.
If JRCALC guidelines change this tool may be added to the pre-hospital assessment.
