Request

Could you please state the number of Jersey High Value Residents (that is to say residents approved under the former Regulation 1(1)(k) of the Housing Law) who have been continuously resident in Jersey for a period in excess of 10 years as of September 2018.

Essentially, how many 1(1)(k) residents who arrived prior to September 2008, continue to remain resident in Jersey?

Response

This response has been provided by the Taxes Office and as such is based on the last complete tax year – which is the 2016 tax year (the Taxes Office has not yet completed the assessing cycle in relation to the 2017 tax year).

Based on this data, there were 93 High Value Residents who had relocated to Jersey by 2007 and were still resident for the 2016 tax year.
