Forecasted year-end budget position (FOI)

Request

Can you please provide me with the Treasury forecasted year end budget position (I.e deficit or surplus amount), for the last ten years figures are available and the corresponding actual year end budget figure.

The Forecast may be accessed under 'Financial Forecast' in the Annual Budget.

The Actual figures may be accessed as follows –

• 2014 onwards in the `Statement of Outturn against Approvals’ eg, Page 221 in the 2014 Accounts (as well as analysis in the Treasurer’s / Performance Report)

• Pre 2014, in the Summary Financial Results within the Treasurer’s Report eg, Page 14 in the 2013 Accounts.

23 Information accessible to applicant by other means

(1) Information is absolutely exempt information if it is reasonably available to the applicant, otherwise than under this Law, whether or not free of charge.

(2) A scheduled public authority that refuses an application for information on this ground must make reasonable efforts to inform the applicant where the applicant may obtain the information.
