What is the Mental Health strategy currently in place for Secondary schools and what are the measurable outcomes? To cover all policy areas: pupils, staff and department policy.
Do secondary schools get allocated a budget specifically for the support of the mental health of teachers?
Has Haute Vallee school started using their former library as a pupil exclusion zone for those students excluded from lessons?
Has Haute Vallee introduced a pupil exclusion policy where students are excluded from
lessons for up to 6 hours?

Assessment of Mental Health Services
This is a temporary arrangement to introduce our successful positive behaviour system known as Ready To Learn (RTL).
Currently, the library is used as the RTL study room but during February half term 2019, the RTL room will be moved to a teaching room within the school. Once the RTL room is moved in to a classroom, the school library will be re-transformed in to a library, learning and study zone to further support the development of our students. The revitalised “Eric Young Millennium Library” will house the recent heavy investment in literature along with updated technology that will support and enhance learning. It is planned that this works will be completed by Easter 2019.
The positive behaviour system introduced at Haute Vallee School is known as Ready To Learn (RTL). All schools will have a similar policy. If students are disrupting the learning of other students, they will be asked to attend the Ready to Learn room (RTL) for up to five lessons.
RTL was introduced to make a positive learning difference to all students and support them in achieving their future aspirations. RTL focuses on ensuring every student has a right to learn, without distraction or disruption. RTL supports our purpose as an educational establishment and aims to ensure that every student has the best opportunity to be successful.
Students and Parents are aware that we do not want students to attend the Ready to Learn Room. We would much prefer that all students adhere to the clear expectations and remain in class so that they can learn to the best of their ability. It is, however, unacceptable that students disrupt the learning of others.
Article 23 Information accessible to applicant by other means
(1) Information is absolutely exempt information if it is reasonably available to the applicant, otherwise than under this Law, whether or not free of charge.
(2) A scheduled public authority that refuses an application for information on this ground must make reasonable efforts to inform the applicant where the applicant may obtain the information.
