Request

What is the breakdown of money each farm / farmer received from the States of Jersey funding given in light of the lack of food on the Island and therefore having to import food?

How was that monetary figure calculated per farm ie herd number count and so on?

Response

To clarify there are currently no grant schemes operated by the States of Jersey which link directly to the supply of local food.

The information you have requested in relation to payments to farmers is exempt under Article 23 (Accessible by other means) of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 (the Law) as the information is already available on the States of Jersey website.

Amounts of grant aid paid are published each year in the annex to the States Accounts, so for example, with reference to 2016, a breakdown of recipients of grant monies can be viewed on page 295 of the document – which is available online at:

Annex to Financial Report and Accounts 2016

Accounts for years 2003 to 2017 are available here:

States of Jersey Accounts

The 2018 States Accounts are due to be published during the first week of April 2019.

The information you have requested in relation to how payments are calculated is also exempt under Article 23 (Accessible by other means) of the Law as the information is already available for you to view on the States of Jersey website.

Details of the grant schemes in operation and how they are calculated are published in the Rural Economy Strategy (2017 to 2021) which you can view on the States of Jersey website. However we have also summarised the calculations below:
