There are 46 Biomedical Scientist posts in the States of Jersey, of which 37 are occupied, the remainder are vacant.

B

The requested information is not held in an accessible format for the purposes of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011.

C

The requested information is not held in an accessible format for the purposes of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 for the last ten years.

In the last five years, States of Jersey have recruited 34 biomedical scientists.

D

The average length of service for those currently employed is 12 years.

It should be noted that of the 37 current employees, 14 have been recruited within the last five years, and their length of service is included in the average. Eight further employees were internally promoted, so they are included within the figure of 34 recruitments in the last five years, but their length of service may be longer than five years, as it is counted from when they started their employment, not from their appointment to their current post.

The remaining difference between the number of recruitments in the last four years (34), the number of current employees with less than five years’ service (14) and the number of internal promotions (8) is twelve. These twelve people were recruited in the last five years but have since left and are no longer employed by States of Jersey. They are not included in the length of service calculations.

E

Of the 34 recruitments, eight were internal promotions, the remainder were externally appointed.
