Could you please confirm the total cost of producing the five yearly Jersey Household Income Distribution report:

Jersey Household Income Distribution report

The Jersey Household Income Distribution report was one of two reports produced from the 2014 / 2015 Household Spending and Income survey conducted by the States of Jersey Statistics Unit (now Statistics Jersey). The other report from this survey was the 2014 /2015 Household Spending report.

The survey itself combined what had previously been two separate surveys: 1) the Income Distribution Survey, which provided a detailed breakdown of household incomes; and 2) the Household Spending Survey, for the purposes of RPI measurement and other analyses.

The total cost of running the combined survey was £202,000. The majority of this cost was on staff: predominantly fieldworkers who interviewed over 1,000 randomly selected households over the course of a year; and data entry staff.

Existing staff resources within the Statistics Unit were used in the planning and oversight of the survey, as well as the analysis and production of the two reports.

Due to the combined nature of the survey, it is therefore not possible to separate out the cost of producing only the report on the Income Distribution.
