I would like all emails from Deputy Macon to the members of States Members Remuneration Review Body and his fellow politicians on the Privileges and Procedures Committee (PPC) since 1 January 2019 to 23 February 2019 concerning States Members remuneration and any suggested reviews.

Response

A search of emails sent from Deputy Maçon to members of States Members’ Remuneration Review Body and his fellow politicians on PPC between 1 January 2019 and 23 February 2019 was undertaken using the key words “remuneration”, “pay”, “pension”, “PPC” and “SMRRB”. The results are attached with appropriate redactions.

Article 25 Personal information

(1) Information is absolutely exempt information if it constitutes personal data of which the applicant is the data subject as defined in the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018.

(2) Information is absolutely exempt information if –

(a) it constitutes personal data of which the applicant is not the data subject as defined in the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018; and

(b) its supply to a member of the public would contravene any of the data protection principles, as defined in that Law.

Justification for Exemption

Article 25 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 has been applied where the release of the information would amount to an infringement of privacy in relation to the individual concerned.

Article 33 Commercial interests

Information is qualified exempt information if –

(a) it constitutes a trade secret; or

(b) its disclosure would, or would be likely to, prejudice the commercial interests of a person (including the scheduled public authority holding the information).

Justification for Exemption

Article 33 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 has been applied where the release of the information might prejudice the commercial interests of a person or organisation.
