Please note: In 2013 Jersey Airports, Jersey Harbours and Housing were included in States of Jersey figures. Since June 2014 and September 2015, those departments were incorporated to separate entities, and as such, are no longer included in States of Jersey figures.

Notes:

1.The above figures are taken from the constitution of the States Assembly at the first States sitting in each year shown.

2. In 2003, one Senatorial seat was vacant at the time of the first sitting of the States. This position was later filled by a male candidate.

3. In 2011, the constitution of the States Assembly was changed to reduce the number of Senators to 10.

4. In 2014, the constitution of the States Assembly was further changed to reduce the number of Senators to eight.

Notes:

1. The figures above are a ‘snapshot’ taken from designated roles and memberships as at the first session of the States for each year shown.

2. The States Assembly moved from a committee based system to a ministerial based system of government in 2005 which is reflected in the table above.

3. Until 2011 Ministers could appoint Assistant Ministers without notifying the Assembly, therefore the number and breakdown of Assistant Ministers for 2008 are not held.

4. In September 2013 a new position of Minister for External Affairs was created which is reflected in an additional total of Ministers for 2017.

5. ‘Other States Bodies’ include the Privileges and Procedures Committee, the Public Accounts Committee, the Jersey Overseas Aid Commission, the Legislation Advisory Panel, the planning Committee and the States Employment Board.
