Please can you answer the following questions relating to clinical trials:

Do you run any clinical trials for investigational medicinal products in Jersey?

If not, is there a reason why not?

Do you send patients to the UK for clinical trials of drugs as an alternative to not running trials in Jersey?

Do you know if Jersey has an ethics committee or regulatory authority or is Jersey covered by ethics committees and MHRA in UK?

A and B

Yes, as part of multicentre trials.

If the clinical trial is being coordinated through a UK specialist centre then Jersey patients may be enrolled into trials by UK centres.

The Health and Community Services department has an ethics committee which would consider any local issues in relation to clinical trials approved by a recognised UK research ethics committee.
