Littering fines (FOI)

Littering fines (FOI)

Produced by the Freedom of Information office
Authored by Government of Jersey on behalf of the States of Jersey Police and published on 14 June 2019.
Prepared internally, no external costs.

Request

I would like to know how many people in Jersey have been fined the maximum fine of £500 pounds by the court or Parish Halls for not picking up their dog mess, or Litter in town or on parks and beaches, since the fine was introduced in Jersey.

Response

Records are not searchable prior to 2008. Between 2008 and today’s date, the highest recorded fine was £150 for an offence of littering in 2012.
