Hospital bed availability (FOI)

Produced by the Freedom of Information office
Authored by Government of Jersey and published on 04 December 2019.
Prepared internally, no external costs.

Please provide the bed occupancy and vacancies in the General Hospital at 2100 hours from 1st August 2019 to 31st October 2019.

Please confirm the bed vacancies at 2100 hours in the acute care, surgical, medical and private wards between 1st August 2019 and 31st October 2019"

Additionally, please include the following:

“The Jersey Care model speaks of the new hospital having 200 beds. Please give a breakdown of categories of beds within that total and state whether, or not, the remedial beds to be provided by private contractors in nursing homes are in addition to, or a part of that overall figure of 200 beds.

Health & Community Services (HCS) do not hold data to support the request of bed vacancies at 2100hrs. HCS are able to provide data of midnight occupancy in acute care between 1 August 2019 and 31 October 2019.

Please note EAU is the Emergency Assessment Unit which accepts medical patients.

Information is provided within the following table.

Planning of ‘Our Hospital’ continues to progress but at this stage HCS do not have this level of detail regarding the Jersey Care Model.
