Request

Please can you tell me over the last five years

A.

The total number of Island school pupils leaving 6th Form (or equivalent)

B.

How many have gone on to undertake a degree course on island (including those who have taken a gap year)

C.

How many have gone on to undertake a degree course off island (including those

Response

The Education, Sport and Culture Department will not be able to respond to the part of this request relating to schools until the start of the new term and will need to rely on the extended time limit regulations provided for under the FOI legislation.

Term starts on 3 September 2015 and this part of your FOI request will be dealt with after that date.

Private sixth forms (Beaulieu and De La Salle) are not covered by the FOI law so will not be included in the response.

However, they may be able to provide this information to you if you approach them directly.

Data relating to leavers from Highlands College for the last five years are presented below.

This data includes students leaving from all years of study rather than only year 13, so will not be directly comparable to the data we will provide for school sixth forms.

We are unable to provide the number of leavers who have gone on to undertake a degree course following a gap year. However, we have provided the number of leavers who have taken a gap year after leaving college.
