Communications Unit:

A

There are 24 full time employees in the Communications Directorate (the previous Communications Unit was disbanded in July 2018).

B

There are six part time staff in the Communications Directorate

C

The Interim Director of Communication was hired from abroad. All other staff were recruited on Island.

D

In addition to the Director of Communications, one Jersey-born employee is under short-term contract, through a Jersey temping agency.

E

The Communications Directorate was established in July 2018. Previously, the Government operated a devolved model, under which individual communications and marketing staff, activities and costs were incurred separately by individual departments. These costs were brought together when the new Communications Directorate was established.

The budget for 2018 (from July) was £549,000. Budgets for 2019 onwards are detailed within the Government Plan and Business Case published on gov.je.
