How many injuries / falls patients have sustained between January 2019 to January 2020 at Sandybrook nursing home?

B

What was the theme of those injuries in the same time frame?

C

Were any of those injury's caused through lack of and or defective equipment?

A

40 incidents that resulted in injuries were recorded in the stated timeframe.

Nine falls were recorded within the same timeframe but not all falls resulted in injury. As the number of falls that did result in injury is small, Article 25 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 has been applied in order to protect the privacy of individuals.

20 of the injuries sustained were recorded as skin flap / bruise / abrasion.

Eight of the injuries sustained were recorded as pressure sore.

Of the 12 other incidents that resulted in injuries there is no commonality that would enable HCS to present figures thematically. As the detail of these injuries may result in the identification of a patient, Article 25 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 has been applied to protect patient privacy.

As the number of incidents that were a result of faulty equipment is very small and could lead to the identification of a patient, Article 25 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 has been applied to protect patient privacy.

25 Personal information

(1) Information is absolutely exempt information if it constitutes personal data of which the applicant is the data subject as defined in the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2005.

(2) Information is absolutely exempt information if –

(a) it constitutes personal data of which the applicant is not the data subject as defined in the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2005; and

(b) its supply to a member of the public would contravene any of the data protection principles, as defined in that Law.
