Request

Since 2000 how many motor vehicle (cars, vans, tractors, motorbikes) have been involved in road traffic crashes on an annual basis on La Grande Route de la Trinite and all adjoining roads from Waitrose south of the trinity hill to trinity church junction).

How many drivers were prosecuted and if prosecuted what was the offence.

If prosecuted was the hearing in the parish hall, magistrates court or royal court.

How many speed checks have been carried out on la Grande Route de la Trinite since 2000 on an annual basis by the States of Jersey Police and the go start police.

What was the outcome of each of the speed checks undertaken.

How many persons have been hospitalised following an RTC on la Route de la Trinite.

Response

Not all the information requested is held. The States of Jersey Police have records of RTC’s dating form 2008 only. We do not have records of speed checks undertaken and/or the results.

There are over 60 recorded RTC’s on La Route de Trinite alone since 2008. There are over 20 adjoining roads. To research each accident on La Route de Trinite and all adjoining roads to the extent requested, prosecutions, offence, court location, would require a detailed examination of each individual event. This would take longer than permitted under the Freedom of information regulations. The request is declined.

Article applied

Article 16 A scheduled public authority may refuse to supply information if cost excessive

(1) A scheduled public authority that has been requested to supply information may refuse to supply the information if it estimates that the cost of doing so would exceed an amount determined in the manner prescribed by Regulations.

Regulation 2 (1) of the Freedom of Information (Costs) (Jersey) Regulations 2014 allows an authority to refuse a request for information where the estimated cost of dealing with the request would exceed the specified amount of the cost limit of £500. This is the estimated cost of one person spending 12.5 working hours in determining whether the department holds the information, locating, retrieving and extracting the information.
