Request
I refer to a previous Freedom of Information Request published at the following link:
Registration of specific makes of vehicle (FOI)
I would like to know how many registered keepers there were of the relevant vehicles. That is to say, Volkswagen, Audi, Seat and Skoda which have a 1.2, 1.6 or 2 litre diesel engine and manufactured between January 2008 and December 2015.
It would be appreciated if the answer could be provided in tabular form. I imagine the total number will be significantly higher than in the previous request because it will include second-hand owners.
Response
Your request has returned a total of 1,120 vehicles in the categories requested.
Our systems are not configured in such a way that we can pull numbers of registered keepers out and this task would have to be carried out manually. We estimate that this will take in excess of the 12.5 hours allowed for Freedom of Information responses in accordance with Regulation 2 (1) of the Freedom of Information (Costs) (Jersey) Regulations 2014. Your request will therefore not be processed further.
Article applied
Article 16 A scheduled public authority may refuse to supply information if cost excessive
(1) A scheduled public authority that has been requested to supply information may refuse to supply the information if it estimates that the cost of doing so would exceed an amount determined in the manner prescribed by Regulations.
Regulation 2 (1) of the Freedom of Information (Costs) (Jersey) Regulations 2014 allows an authority to refuse a request for information where the estimated cost of dealing with the request would exceed the specified amount of the cost limit of £500. This is the estimated cost of one person spending 12.5 working hours in determining whether the department holds the information, locating, retrieving and extracting the information.
