Registered Daimler Group vehicles (FOI)

Registered Daimler Group vehicles (FOI)

Produced by the Freedom of Information office
Authored by Government of Jersey and published on 23 June 2020.
Prepared internally, no external costs.

Request

I would like confirmation of the number of registered keepers (previous and present) of vehicles registered Jersey which match the following description:

  • manufactured by the Daimler AG group (which includes Mercedes-Benz (including Mercedes-Benz vans), Smart and Mitsubishi);

  • which have a 1.2, 1.4, 1.6, 2 litre diesel engine (or larger); and

  • which were manufactured between 1 January 2008 and 31 December 2015.

Response

Your request has returned a total of 1082 vehicles in the categories requested. Our systems are not configured in such a way that we can pull numbers of registered keepers out and this task would have to be carried out manually. We estimate that this will take in excess of the 12.5 hours allowed for Freedom of Information responses in accordance with Regulation 2 (1) of the Freedom of Information (Costs) (Jersey) Regulations 2014. Your request will therefore not be processed further.

Article applied

Article 16 A scheduled public authority may refuse to supply information if cost excessive

(1) A scheduled public authority that has been requested to supply information may refuse to supply the information if it estimates that the cost of doing so would exceed an amount determined in the manner prescribed by Regulations.

Regulation 2 (1) of the Freedom of Information (Costs) (Jersey) Regulations 2014 allows an authority to refuse a request for information where the estimated cost of dealing with the request would exceed the specified amount of the cost limit of £500. This is the estimated cost of one person spending 12.5 working hours in determining whether the department holds the information, locating, retrieving and extracting the information.
