A.

HSSD used UK based agency nurses for 51 weeks of each year. There were zero to 26 UK agency nurses used at any one across all service areas.

2015 to date, HSSD has used UK agency nurses within the following fields at any one time:

  • eight adults 
  • five theatre practitioners
  • three mental health field
  • zero paediatrics
  • zero learning disabilities
  • zero midwives

UK agency nurses cost:

  • 2013 x £811k
  • 2014 x £1,178k

C.

The delivery of the nursing degree programme commenced in September 2013 therefore the first intake of adult field nurses (not branch anymore) are due to qualify in July 2016.

  • September 2013 intake was 12students
  • September 2014 intake was 10 students
  • September 2015 intake is 13 (tbc pending ‘A’ level results)

D.

Cost approximately: £8,500 for on Island provision of the pre-registration nursing degree programme.
