From the latest available data, what is the current average Salary in Jersey for a single person?
I would also like to know at what rate the average Salary has risen over the past 5 years compared to the Property Inflation index?
In June 2020, mean average earnings for a full-time equivalent (FTE) worker was £780 per week (excluding bonuses). Median average earnings was estimated at £610 per week for a full-time equivalent worker in June 2020.
Over the last 5 years (from June 2015 to June 2020) average earnings for a full-time equivalent worker have increased by 12.5%. Over the same time period, the Jersey House Price index has increased by 31.8%.
The Jersey House Price Index report for Q4 2019 includes a section on housing affordability in Jersey (pages 15-20). It contains detailed analysis of how housing affordability in Jersey has changed since 2002, overall and by various property types. It compares average (median) property prices with average (mean and median) household income. The report can be found here:Jersey House Price Index - Fourth quarter 2019
