Essential Design, Engineering and Construction Workers on the Horizon Site:

Please provide the following numbers:

A

How many licenses for travelling essential workers have been applied for through the States of Jersey Department of Health and Social Services by the Jersey Development Company during the Covid-19 pandemic?

B

How many such licences have been granted to the Jersey Development Company?

C

What is the total number of such licences that have been granted to the Jersey Construction sector in general over the same period?

Response

A

32 exemptions have been requested, however all 32 have been applied for on a rolling two week basis, and as such a total of 384 construction worker exemptions have been applied for, for 32 individuals in total.

B

All 32 (or 384) have been granted.

C

From 1 June 2020 to 7 December 2020 a total of 199 other exemptions for the Jersey Construction, so including the Horizon Site exemptions the total number is 231 (or 583 if counting the multiple requests for the Horizon workers).
