This response itemises the current position at that time of the following:

A

What is the percentage of teachers and teaching workforce and who are female and what percentage male and what percentage other chosen gender in primary?

B

What is the percentage of teachers and teaching workforce who are female and what percentage male and what percentage other chosen gender in secondary?

C

What is the percentage of teachers and teaching workforce who are female and what is the percentage male and what percentage other chosen gender overall?

D

What is the percentage of head teachers, deputy head teachers, assistant head teachers, classroom teachers that are male and what percentage female and what percentage identify as another gender in primary and secondary schools?

Please can you identify how this was in 2017 and 2014

Response

The data provided is based upon our systems ability to record gender based upon two categories only, male and female. ‘Not specified’, as shown below, does not mean an individual has chosen not to disclose their gender. This is likely that an option has not been selected when inputting data.

Our new Integrated Technology System (ITS) people module will enable employees to enter their gender identity via a self-service portal and will include a third ‘other’ category.

The information relating to question 'C' only referring to “overall”, includes Highlands College which includes a pay group that has been consolidated into the ‘Heads and Deputies’ pay group to include the Principal and Vice Principal. There are no Deputies or Heads at Highlands.
