Residential placements for children with complex needs. (FOI)

Produced by the Freedom of Information office
Authored by Government of Jersey and published on 12 May 2021.
Prepared internally, no external costs.

Request

I wish to know the number of children with complex needs, such as ASD/ADHD, who have had to be moved to the UK in order for them to utilise specific residential homes and support there in the last 10 years and at what cost to the Government of Jersey (GOJ)?

The cost to the GOJ can be a full amount or per annum.

Response

The Department have determined that to provide the specific number of children would likely breach the privacy of individuals and therefore, Article 25 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) 2011 Law has been applied.

The total cost to the Government of Jersey for children with complex needs, ASD/ADHD in UK residential placements for the period 2011 to 2021 was £3,303,465.
