Please provide statistical information relating to children who have died (within your jurisdiction) receiving inpatient psychiatric care at the time of their death.

A.

For each year, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 please provide the number of children who have died receiving inpatient care at the time of their death.

B.

For each year, please provide equal opportunities monitoring information for any child who
has died including the child’s age, gender and ethnicity

C.

For each year, please provide the patient status, ie whether the child was detained or non detained at the time of their death

D.

For each year, please provide the location of the death ie whether they were in a hospital or unit and the name of the psychiatric service provider.

Response

The department can confirm that there have been no deaths of inpatient psychiatric patients under 18 years of age between 2010 and 2014.
