Request

I would like to know the current situation of the planned skateparks for St Helier, South hill and Les Quennevais.

If possible could you tell me how far in the planning stage they are and if you know which is likely to be built first?

Any general information on the subject would be useful.

Response

Below is an update regarding each of the proposed skatepark sites as at 5 July 2021.

Les Quennevais

Following receipt of an initial application, a review of the application was carried out, which determined that additional information was required in order to be able to assess the proposal.

A complete set of information has now been provided and the application has been registered under reference P/2021/0778. The application will now follow the usual process of public consultation and it will be determined in accordance with standard procedures and policies.

The planning application and supporting documentation can be viewed in the planning register on www.gov.je  This can be accessed using the following link.

South Hill

Following receipt of an initial application, a review of the application was carried out, which determined that additional information was required in order to be able to assess the proposal.

The applicant is currently making the necessary application alterations and collating the additional information requested.

Once submitted, the revised application will be reviewed, and if sufficient, it will be registered and the period of public consultation will begin.

Construction

Construction of either skatepark cannot commence until planning approval has been granted. It is likely that the work will commence on which ever skatepark receives approval first.
