What support has government given to the Cannabis Services Advisory Board? If financial, what sum?
What financial support, including by way of grant of subsidy, has been given by government to the Island’s cannabis and hemp industry in the past four years?
And how many essential employment licences have been granted in the past four years to employers in the same industries?
Officers periodically meet with the Cannabis Services Advisory Board (CSAB) members as part of their day-to-day functional activity and attend / support CSAB meetings at the invitation of their Chairman to facilitate information exchange and discussion around how best to develop this emerging sector. No financial support has been provided to the CSA, (formerly referred to as the Jersey Cannabis Services Advisory Group) as it is an independent industry representative body.
Direct financial support given by Government in the form of grants and subsidy to the cannabis and hemp sector under policies within the Rural Economy Strategy for the period of 2018-2021 are as follows:
Rural Support Scheme - £12,263.32
Rural Initiative Scheme - £48,900.00
Rural Support Scheme - £15,477.00
The number of licensed and registered permissions granted to undertakings with a business nature containing ‘hemp’ or ‘cannabis’ are as follows:
