On 31 July 2019, in the following press release "Funding Allocated for Our Hospital project" the Government of Jersey (GOJ) confirmed: "Professor (Ashok) Handa was appointed on a two-year interim contract, and will be paid a fee of £1,000 a day. Flights and Jersey accommodation will also be paid, in line with Government of Jersey policy for external contractors."

Professor Handa's contract has since been extended.

Please confirm the following:

How much, in total, Professor Handa has been paid by the GOJ from the date of his appointment to today's date

B

How many days, in total Professor Handa has worked from the date of his appointment to today's date

C

How much has been spent on Professor Handa's flights from the date of his appointment to today's date

D

How much has been spent on Professor Handa's accommodation from the date of his appointment to today's date

E

Whether Professor Handa continues to be paid £1,000 a day, and to have his flights and accommodation paid, since his initial contract came to an end in July 2021.

Information is absolutely exempt information if it is reasonably available to the applicant, otherwise than under this Law, whether or not free of charge.

A scheduled public authority that refuses an application for information on this ground must make reasonable efforts to inform the applicant where the applicant may obtain the information.
