Conflict of interest by Dr Muscat and PCR tests (FOI)

Conflict of interest by Dr Muscat and PCR tests (FOI)

Produced by the Freedom of Information office
Authored by Government of Jersey and published on 29 October 2021.
Prepared internally, no external costs.

Request

Ivan Muscat must have had to declare his business interests and specifically his conflicts of interests to ensure transparency and to avoid any chance of taxpayers money (that he has been entrusted with) being channelled into any of his own business interests for his own personal gain.

Therefore please provide details of Mr. Muscat's interests in the current supply of PCR tests; the ones that Mr. Muscat is advocating to the people (of whom he has the care and trust of) while acting in the role of Medical Officer.

Provide evidence that there is no conflict of interest or potential to defraud or deceit.

Response

There is no supply of PCR tests. PCR testing is a process that is undertaken to detect the presence of COVID-19 in the body.

Information is publicly available in response to a previous FOI request. Article 23 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 has therefore been applied. Please see the following link:

Receipt of private funding in relation to Covid-19 (FOI)
