Response

A

The Highways team within Infrastructure, Housing and Environment (IHE) have not installed any 5G equipment on the street lighting that they manage.

However, we do not hold information regarding the street lighting on roads administered by the Parish, therefore, Article 10 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies.

The Parishes may hold further information, therefore you may wish to contact them using the details provided at the end of the response.

B to D

Not applicable.

E

A small number of lamp columns have environmental monitoring units attached, as detailed below, however, most do not have any communication capabilities

  • the Solid Waste team have six eNose monitors attached to lighting columns around the La Collette site, which are focused in the composting area. These record the amount of dust and certain odorous organic chemicals in the air to assist IHE in the event of any odour issues in this area
  • the Liquid Waste section have 16 eNose monitors located from the top of the Sewage Treatment Works (STW) down to Victoria Avenue, however only six of these are attached to lamp columns. These monitor the levels of odour, in the air within this area to monitor how well the odour removal equipment is working at these various sites.

F

The Development Control section of IHE have not received any planning applications for 5G installations / masts to date.
