COVID Support Audit Team (FOI)

COVID Support Audit Team (FOI)

Produced by the Freedom of Information office
Authored by Government of Jersey and published on 27 April 2022.
Prepared internally, no external costs.

Request

'How many islanders have been referred for mental health 'safeguarding', after receiving a phone call demanding money from the Covid Support Audit team?'

Response

The Covid Support Audit Team is auditing claims made by businesses to the Government Covid Business Support teams, for example Co-funded Payroll Scheme. Where a business has overclaimed (i.e., they have claimed more money than they were entitled to claim) they are required to pay this back. We can confirm that fewer than five people have been offered and then accepted a safeguarding referral up to 25.04.2022. The Covid Support Audit team have not made any referrals without customer consent.

Due to the small numbers involved, disclosure control has been applied to avoid breaching the privacy of individuals and Article 25 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 has been applied.

Article applied
