Produced by the Freedom of Information office
Authored by Government of Jersey and published on 12 May 2022.
Prepared internally, no external costs.

Request

Given the exposure of biological-weapon labs in Ukraine, what strict health measures are in place to ensure High Consequence Infectious Diseases (HCID) are not carried/transmitted by refugees or other travellers from Ukraine to Jersey, to keep the local population safe.

Response

People displaced by the war in Ukraine who have arrived in Jersey under the visa system are provided with a package of support coordinated by the Customer and Local Services department. This support includes arrangements for primary medical care and health assessments.
