The latest available waiting list information on gov.je website covers the period up to December last year and it lists close to 9,500 patients waiting for an outpatient appointment and over three thousand patients waiting for an inpatient service.

Please provide a numbers of patients waiting for an outpatient and inpatient appointment at the end of January, February and March 2022 in total and a breakdown per specialty.

What is the expected lag time in reporting monthly waiting times on gov.je (it used to be 15-20 days after month closure)?

A

The data is available via gov.je, and therefore Article 23 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 has been applied.

Health and Community Services (HCS) aim to update the monthly waiting times on gov.je within 20 working days after month end and following internal sign off via HCS assurance committees.

Updating the waiting times on the gov.je website is one of the tasks completed by the Informatics team. The Informatics team supports all data and reporting across HCS including the Patient Tracking Lists.

As of 26 April 2022 the team comprises of:

  • 1 x Head of Informatics
  • 2 x Senior Informatics Analyst
  • 2 x Informatics Analyst
  • 2 x Assistant Informatics Analyst
  • 1 x Data Quality Analyst

(1)     Information is absolutely exempt information if it is reasonably available to the applicant, otherwise than under this Law, whether or not free of charge.

(2)    A scheduled public authority that refuses an application for information on this ground must make reasonable efforts to inform the applicant where the applicant may obtain the information.
