Computing and ICT at secondary schools (FOI)

Computing and ICT at secondary schools (FOI)

Request

I would like to know which Jersey secondary schools are currently teaching "computing" (not "ICT") as a seperate subject.

Response

The Jersey curriculum requires computing, which includes digital literacy, IT skills and computer science, to be delivered at key stage one to key stage four.

Computing is delivered as a separate subject at the following secondary schools:

  • Grainville
  • Hautlieu
  • Jersey College for Girls
  • Le Rocquier
  • Les Quennevais
  • Victoria College

Haute Vallée School teaches computing as part of ICT in key stage three.

Teaching arrangements in the private secondary schools are not in scope of the Education Department’s FOI responsibility.
