Deaths from COVID-19 vaccination status (FOI)

Request 

For the Covid deaths recorded between Sunday 13th December 2020 and 31st December 2020 (inclusive) what was the vaccination status of those who passed in the following age groups: 

90+

80-89

70-79

60-69

50-59 

Response 

Information gathered in order to register a death does not include the vaccination status of the deceased. This information is therefore not held, and Article 10 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies. 

Records on vaccination status and the registration of death are not held centrally. To answer the request, the data would need to be extracted from various sources and manipulated. The Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 does not require a Scheduled Public Authority to manipulate or create new data sets in order to provide a response but to release information held in recorded form.

Article 10 - Obligation of scheduled public authority to confirm or deny holding information 

(1) Subject to paragraph (2), if –

(a) a person makes a request for information to a scheduled public authority; and

(b) the authority does not hold the information, it must inform the applicant accordingly.
