Request

How many houses of 5000 square feet and over have been built in the green belt since the change of planning regulations? To include replacement dwellings as well Information back to the Law Change in July 2011

Response

Thank you for your information request of 21 December 2015 as detailed above. The department is able to confirm that 876 houses have been completed across the entire Island between 1 January 2011 and 31 December 2015. We do not capture data relating to square footage of domestic properties.

Providing data on the number of new or replacement builds in the green zone would require a manual cross of the 876 completed homes against two systems. We estimate that it will take us in excess of 12.5 working hours to locate, retrieve and extract the information in reference to your request. Your request, therefore, will not be processed further.

Regulation 2 (1) of the Freedom of Information (Costs) (Jersey) Regulations 2014 allows an authority to refuse a request for information where the estimated cost of dealing with the request would exceed the specified amount of the cost limit of £500. This is the estimated cost of one person spending 12.5 working hours in determining whether the department holds the information, locating, retrieving and extracting the information.
