Building application process (gov.je)

States that regarding a building bye law application (as part of the building application process) "at least 95% of all applications will be determined within 5 weeks of being registered". So far in 2022 what percentage of bye law applications have been determined within 5 weeks?

Response

For clarification, please note that the following paragraph is also included on the building application web page in relation to any amendments required when assessing a building application.

'Where amendments are necessary to enable building permission to be granted we will notify you or your agent in writing within 5 weeks and give you or your agent an option of submitting further plans. If you take this option we will issue a decision notice, or a further request for information if necessary, within 5 weeks of receipt of the revised plans'

Therefore, the assessment of an application and request for further plans is deemed a determination.

The percentage of building applications that have been assessed within 5 weeks is 44% as at 5 September 2022.

It should be noted that there are currently vacancies within the building control section which has impacted the processing time for building applications.
