Request

I understand that two surveys are being undertaken or have been completed by the States (or via a States department), one given to parent/carers of deaf / hard of hearing children, the other to deaf children and young people themselves. Please can I have:

A

Copies of the two survey questions.

B

Given the small numbers in the Island, whether the surveys were a complete survey of all parent/carers of deaf / hard of hearing children and survey to all deaf / hard of hearing children or only a sample?

C

Who conducted the surveys and who designed the questions?

D

Sight of the results of the surveys when published.

E

Whether the Minister for Education has been appraised of the results?

Response

A

Please find below a copy of the two surveys.

B

Both surveys were sent to a sample of parents/carers of deaf / hard of hearing pupils with an email address.

C

The Government of Jersey’s Hearing and Deaf Support Team who are part of the Inclusion Team within Children, Young People, Education and Skills (CYPES) have designed the surveys.

D

The results have yet to be analysed as the surveys are ongoing and not all results have yet been received.
