Healthcare questionnaires (FOI)

Healthcare questionnaires (FOI)

Produced by the Freedom of Information office
Authored by Government of Jersey and published on 30 December 2022.
Prepared internally, no external costs.

Request

The health minister has stated that there will be several questionnaires sent out to a sample of households in Jersey with regard to Healthcare. One being how healthcare is funded. The public do not trust the way these surveys are being carried out.

Why does the minister not hold a full referendum on healthcare?

Response

Information is not held by the Minister for Health and Social Services or the department of Health and Community Services to answer the question posed. Therefore, Article 3 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies.

Freedom of Information is a mechanism to enable access to information held in recorded form by a Scheduled Public Authority. Alternative mechanisms exist to pose questions to States Members for comment, either by contacting the individual(s), or submitting a question to all elected States Members. This can be completed online through the States Assembly website:

Members (gov.je)

Email all elected States Members (gov.je)

Additionally, petitions may be lodged through the States of Jersey website. If supported, this can result in the matter being addressed by a Minister, or being brought to the States for debate depending on the level of support received, as detailed on the website:
