Request

I would like a digital copy of the European (UK) Patent No 2620450 in the name of Pfizer Products Inc that was registered in Jersey through Lysaght by Annette Lovell.

Response

Jersey operates a dependent registry which is operated by the Judicial Greffe so all Patents registered in Jersey have to have a prior registration in the UK. You can see the record of registration in Jersey on page 1135 via the following link:

Patents Search Results (gov.je)

As this is a UK registration you can use the IPO IPSUM service to access information in the following link:

Intellectual Property Office - Patent document and information service (Ipsum) (ipo.gov.uk)

However, this was a European patent pre-Brexit. If you search for ‘EP2620450’ using the following link you will see the relevant UK record:

Intellectual Property Office - Patent document and information service (Ipsum) (ipo.gov.uk)

As the European (UK) Patent No 2620450 in the name of Pfizer Products Inc is accessible by other means, Article 23 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 has been applied.

Article applied

Article 23 - Information accessible to applicant by other means

(1) Information is absolutely exempt information if it is reasonably available to the applicant, otherwise than under this Law, whether or not free of charge.

(2) A scheduled public authority that refuses an application for information on this ground must make reasonable efforts to inform the applicant where the applicant may obtain the information.
