Please may you provide me with statistics on the number of fires your Fire Service has attended at recycling centres, scrapyards, landfills, and any other Waste Management Facilities since 1 January 2022. If possible, please also highlight any incidents where other regional Fire Services have been brought in to assist in putting out these fires.

Response

There was one incident at a landfill site in September 2022 to a small fire caused by internal combustion within the waste pit. No access is available to comment on regional incidents, however no regional assistance was used locally.
